Automated Swing-Blade Sawmills | Turbosawmill M12

Turbosawmill / Automated portable sawmills

AUTOMATED SWING-BLADE
SAWMILLS.

The Turbosawmill M12 automated swing-blade sawmill combines high-production cutting with mechanical simplicity. A rigid single-beam monorail, hydrostatic feed and automatic blade swing give one operator an efficient way to produce dimensional timber, beams and wide boards without repeatedly handling the log.

The idea is simple: automate the repetitive movement while keeping the cutting system mechanical, accessible and easy to understand.

Mechanical automation

AUTOMATION WITHOUT UNNECESSARY COMPLEXITY.

The M12 is built around a single central beam. Keeping the carriage aligned to one rigid monorail removes the need to coordinate two separate running rails while the machine travels through the cut.

Feed speed is controlled through a hydrostatic transmission, giving the operator smooth forward and reverse control without changing gears.

At the far end, the blade swing is mechanical. The blade loads a gas strut in one position, the carriage reaches a physical stop, and the stored energy swings the blade ready for the return cut.

01 / FEED

Hydrostatic control

Continuously variable travel speed lets the operator match feed to the timber.

02 / SWING

A stop, not a sensor

The far-end movement is triggered mechanically rather than depending on timing electronics.

03 / ENERGY

A gas strut, not a servo

Stored mechanical energy performs the blade swing without adding another powered actuator.

High-capacity swing-blade cutting

12-INCH BEAMS. 24-INCH DOUBLE CUTS.

The current M12-35A is designed around a nominal 12 × 12 in (305 × 305 mm) standard cut and can double cut up to approximately 11 × 24 in (279 × 610 mm).

Double cutting uses one horizontal pass from one side and a second pass from the opposite side. Because the same swing blade performs both cuts, the carriage does not need to be lifted and rotated.

The swing-blade format also gives the operator freedom to change the cutting sequence around the log instead of forcing every log through the same pattern.

One-operator workflow

THE MILL CUTS. YOU HANDLE THE TIMBER.

Automation changes where the operator spends time. Instead of walking repeatedly up and down the log to move the carriage, you can use that time to collect and stack finished boards while the next cut is underway.

01 Make the vertical cuts

Work across the log and establish the board widths you need.

02 Let the mill travel

The powered carriage carries the cut while you move the previous timber.

03 Release and stack

Finish the horizontal sequence and remove several prepared boards efficiently.

Single-beam monorail

OPEN ACCESS TO THE LOG AND THE TIMBER.

There is no outside rail trapping the operator between two tracks. The open side remains available for log loading, board collection, large beams and suitable handling equipment.

That access becomes especially useful with heavy material: the timber can move sideways away from the log instead of being threaded back through a surrounding carriage frame.

Moving the automated mill

BUILT TO STAY RIGID. MOVED AS A COMPLETE MACHINE.

The automated M12 is designed to remain assembled rather than being repeatedly broken into small sections. That preserves the rigid structure the cutting system depends on.

Jockey wheels make positioning around the yard easier. For customers moving between sites, the optional farm dolly allows the mill to lower onto a towable frame rather than requiring full disassembly.

Road-registration and towing requirements vary by jurisdiction. The purchaser is responsible for local transport compliance.
